Things I'm loving lately 🤩

Abby Beth Carter

Lil update

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been taking some space from social media. Life has been full - in a good way - and instead of forcing an “online presence,” I’ve been following the flow, which has led me away from posting.

However, I have been thinking about my peeps (that’s you!) on my email list and want to stay connected here. So while I don’t have any mind-blowing updates or fun announcements, I thought I’d say hi and share a light email about a few of my favorite things lately! I’d love to hear what you’re loving too, so if you feel like sharing, “hit reply” and let me know!

#1 Mineral Mocktails

I love these because they really do boost my energy. I binged a women’s health podcast, “Are you Menstrual” and have been learning all kinds of things, like with every pregnancy you LOSE 10% of your mineral status (whaaaaaat?!). The episode on Minerals and your Nervous System was especially interesting.

My current fave mocktail to beat the afternoon energy slump is:

I also like to drink one first thing in the morning that’s a bit simpler:

#2 Lymphatic drainage every morning + night

Would you like me to do a video on this??

This has been my refuge on busy days and has been a sort of meditation for me. It doesn’t take that long to do, but it always brings me back to my body and leads me to a big sigh or exhale, which feels much needed and enjoyable.

#3 T-Swift’s new album

What’s your favorite song?

#4 Eye Masks

I put these babies in the refrigerator so they are a nice cool wake-up for tired eyes in the morning. I wear them every. Single. Day.

My fave brand: Grace and Stella

The best deal: 24K Gold Eye Masks (what I’m currently using, but they’re a bit cheaper so sometimes break)

#5 Learning about “fun” things

  • I love me some “parts” work. It’s been instrumental in my relationship with myself and being kinder and more understanding toward myself and how I’m triggered. I’ve also been enjoying incorporating it into client work and Your Energetic Signature readings. No Bad Parts is a wonderful book that was an entryway into parts work for me. To dig more into it, I recently completed a 25-hour training with the IFS Institute that had some fun and creative meditations and inner explorations.

  • Embodied Organ-realm work: I had a rare opportunity to take an 8-session adventure into the organ realm with Ashley Stinson of Energy Archaeology (I love her oracle deck and use it in all of my Energetic Signature readings!). Although I found myself falling asleep during many of the sessions (haha!), it was nice to be on the receiving end of energy work.

  • Cranial Sacral Therapy: I signed up for a cranial sacral therapy training at the end of May. Ever since graduate school, I’ve been drawn to find ways to “do” hands on healing. I went through Reiki and Access Consciousness Energy trainings, but they never fully resonated. When my bff mentioned a cranial sacral training was coming to KC from the Upledger Institute, I jumped on board! I just started the “pre-course” coursework and am excited at the possibilities this work could bring healing and connection to my community. I’m trying not to have any expectations, but that’s hard!

So there’s my update on what I’ve been doing and loving lately. I’d love to hear what you’re currently eating up (figuratively and literally!).

Cheers, Abby

PS If your allergies are bothering you, I tried this "wild" natural cold/allergy remedy that I swear has helped a ton. If you're adventurous enough to try it (it's got garlic, ACV, and some other spicy ingredients), I am hopeful it will help you, too! I didn't actually pour the liquid into ice cubes. Instead, I keep it in the fridge and generously pour it into a mug with a TON of local honey, warm water and a sprinkle of, you guessed it, Redmond's Real Salt. None of these are affiliate links, I just really like them :)

I love to rock the boat with what I explore and share with others, whether it’s a group mindfulness training (like R&R, my 12 week group for burnout prevention), a restorative yoga class, laughter meditation, or a group tarot reading. Tarot with Abby

TL;DR (but hope you do), I’ll be opening my schedule in August for emailed + recorded tarot readings! If you want to join the list and be the first to know, you can do that here. Hey, Reader, Today I'm talking all about Tarot. Let’s get a few things out of the way upfront: Tarot in and of itself is not fortune-telling, scary, or a predictor of anything. It’s a set of cards with images on them and is what you make of it. I approach tarot in a medicinal way -sort of like an herbalist working...

Greetings friends! Since I’ve taken a step back from social media, I’ve decided to send a lil 5-part email series to connect and share with you. My “work” is ever evolving as I continue to receive life lessons and dive into new modalities and ventures. My latest loves are tarot (per usual), parts work (IFS), and cranial sacral therapy with an undercurrent of mind-body medicine. On to part 1 of this series... Isn’t it interesting how the Universe will send you lessons whether you want them or...
